I'm posting transcripts of Nehemiah Wharton's letters on my blog on the anniversary of when they were written in 1642. Wharton was a sergeant in Holles's foot regiment in Essex's army, which puts him on the wrong side, but you can either get interesting details of army life or just laugh at his misguided puritan ways. I've made new transcripts of the letters which are more accurate than the 19th century ones made by Sir Henry Ellis, and they're in the public domain so feel free to copy them.
