my goodness this was great! well done once again Jackie, what a great day out. We spent hours in the taven talking to the Taven Keeper and gathering information for our set-up, they were so welcoming and helpful. All the different people doing different work around the village were so knowledgable about what they were doing that we spent lots of time talking to each one, including a delightful man who cut Kenny's arm off and drilled a hole in his head (Kenny drew the line at having his gallstone removed!) I was offered a rather wrinkled fruit from the holy land on condition I spend the night in the bed of one of the villagers The food was great too, being invited to join the villagers for lunch was the icing on the cake, yum. Yes a good day out and we got home shattered. People from the village kept talking about how they knew of our own plans to build one as a regiment. Does anyone know how this recent proposal started, as I have heard it so many times before.

As you all know we have taken this year out to recover from my broken back, I would Just like to say a huge BIG thank you to Jackie and Paul for all their hard work they have contributed towards the Regiment. And also to Sam for helping Tasha and I througth the year and others who have helped ..you know who you are.
Earl Rivers has been very close to my heart, we have come on leaps and bounds from Rob to Sam's command. Each year we just get better and better, next year you should see me back full time on Living history as a coin minter if all goes to plan.
I heard lots of good comments, huge pat on the back to you all.

Looks like a great day out was had, sorry I had to miss it. Mind you, Leeds Uni worth the visit. Only really know how to burn & bash stuff these days, so a bit of actual learning would have been handy! Hope to get there next year.
