:)Sending a big thank you to all who came along to our social at The Craven Arms, but a particularly huge kiss goes out to Tash for coming along when she has had all the recent worries and stresses. That kiss must stretch a bit to Pauline and Barry who came along to add their massive smiles and warmth to the proceedings. We haven't seen them for a couple of years so perhaps, as well as returning their son Sam to us they might once again share a drink and a memory or two. In total we had twenty three people at this event, not including babies and small children. Andy braved the weekend motorways and brought along not only his fantastic character but also his expertise with musket which enthralled our new recruits. Among st the steady bubble of conversation and jovial banter could be heard the voices of those who would have to work later in the day but came along anyway. That's my boy Nigel. John and Pat managed, before heading off to perform their duties at Ashdown House, to offer to our newest members some very interesting and descriptive incites of what we do. During the food and drinks we talk of many subjects but the subject which held the afternoon was how we could continue to do more of the same. We have made friends with the landlord who is happy for us to do much more. At somewhere around six the last few of us came away with a phrase unifying our thoughts......."we'll be back." I believe I can say we all had a great time and will be looking to continue the experience.
