We had a good turn out with support from Vaughns, Rawdons and Kings guaurd. It was certainly a nice llittle do with tea in the town hall and then a social in the Lion afterwards. The people of Newbury are certainly now more aware of our event next weekend. Unfortunatly the lady musketeer from kings slipped and hurt herself, hope she's OK

Report on Margaret Evans, the King's Guard, from Steve Ellner -
"After spending 3 hours in A & E she came home yesterday. With over stretched muscles and tendons and no permanent damage. On crutches at the moment and will soon be back on her feet."
I sent the following message to our guests -
"Dear Steve, Tim and Twm Thanks also to all you blokes for the support you gave. It made a significant difference. Really grateful that you came from so far to help us out. We'll let you know how much was raised for Help for Heroes when this is announced. Sincerely appreciated and see you next week. Actual arrest is on youtube (type in Newbury arrest mayor - it's in two parts) Steve - thanks for your note and glad that Margaret Evans wasn't too badly hurt - it certainly looked like a nasty fall. Looking forward to buying her a drink at Newbury, or the one after that. Natasha - could you or Kate V please pass on thanks to Patricia Haddock as I don't have her e-mail address. All the best Sam. Earl Rivers' Regt."
Needless to say, thanks to all those of Rivers Regt who were there on the day - good weather as well! The mayor was very pleaseed and has asked to get involved next weekend - working on that at the moment.
WELL DONE also to Johnand Patricia Oakley who organised the SK presence at the Matins church service at Enborne, and to both of them, Jackie, and Keith Berry Davis who 'officiated'. I think there were as mant SK trhere as the locals! And there was nosh afterwards
all the best
Sam.
