Mark Laynesmith (Anglican Chaplain) Wednesday 18th May, from 6.30pm: The King James Bible, 1611: Origins and Impact The Imprint Society and the University of Reading Chaplaincy are delighted to announce that Pauline Croft (Professor in Early Modern History at Royal Holloway) will be giving an illustrated lecture to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible. The lecture will be followed by an opportunity to see some of the rare Bibles and related manuscripts from the University of Reading Special Collections. The event will take place at the Museum for English Rural Life and will begin with refreshments served from 6:30pm. The lecture will begin at 7pm, and from 8pm the University's manuscripts will be available for inspection.
