Just heard about the following which might be of interest if you are going to Snelsmore on the Saturday: Not exactly c17th, but promises to be a really interesting and rare opportunity to see the Medieval Town of Southampton (Hampton). The whole weekend of the 29th/30th September will be an excellent time to visit Southampton to see much of the historic buildings and archaeology that perhaps surprisingly, is still here and very much treasured and valued by locals. Tudor Revels Michaelmas Fayre in the heart of Southampton's Old Town is a fantastic opportunity to seeing all these sites for free with lectures by historians, workshops, authentic music, Mummers plays, guided historic walks and talks and the colourful Michaelmas Procession. Michaelmas Fayre Turn back time and visit Tudor Southampton right in the heart of the walled town, St Michaels square will come alive with stalls, performances, workshop, processions. There will be talks, walks around historic sites and buildings, demonstrations of crafts, of costume, performances, mummers, story tellers, lute workshops, singing workshops and Free Entry to Tudor House Museum & Gardens.
