Dear all,
I have just had an e-mail back from Arthur Jackson, Chairman of the SK. It is below this short message from me.
I would just like to say how pleased and proud I am of the work that the Regiment has been put in over the course of a very busy month, at MERL, Englefield and at the Wash Common unveiling. It is not only the hard work and enthusiasm of the members involved, but the professionalism of the displays. And all this after a wet and busy major muster at Newstead. Well done to you all.
Now read Arthur's message...
ARTHUR'S E-MAIL
Sam,
Can you convey my thanks to those members of the regiment that turned up at Newbury on Saturday. They looked good. Whilst speaking with the MP Richard Beynon he made some very complimentary comments about the 2 days at Englefield. Can you estimate how many children visited you on those 2 days and was the MP there? I plan to write to the MP thanking him for his comments and also seeing if we can draw him into being a supportter should we need it. Again make sure all your members are thanked for the attendence at Englefield. They are building the reputation of the SK as an educational charity although they may not realise they are doing that.
Regards,
Arthur.
(note from Sam - I've contact Tasha separately about the numbers)

Richard also spoke to us about the Englefield work on Saturday, but his Dad , Sir William Benyon may have done the official rounds at some point during the two days. Richard is more the career MP, while Sir William controls the estate. I think his sister has taken over the education initiative for the Englefield Trust. They are very supportive of schools and have enormous influence.
