What a nice little village do set in the gorgous rolling hills of the welsh borders. It seemed that all the villagers got involved the church was beautifuuly deecked out in side with trees and flowers the village hall doing tea and cakes etc. Short march and drill display midday, skirmish in the afternoon, interesting living history well done nigel with your surgeon bit. Good beer festival with thirty beers and ciders to try and entertainment all day en the beer tent ending late with a laser show projected on to the castle and hillside. All in all a great event.

Well done all who went to Skenfrith last weekend. Exactly as Paul and Nigel described: well done to Twm and Vaughans for getting this one set up.
One highlight was Nigel's 'interactive' surgeon (the one living history stall that had a constant stream of visitors) with associated nasty tools.
Second highlight was 'Lord' Matthew Goode, the Earl of Glamorgan. Fanned and served grub by his loyal flunky, Jeff.
Also the strange case of the 'Disappearance of Joe Durbidge'. Bets were on that he'd been abducted by aliens but it turned out that he'd merely gone for a walk on the hill.
Vaughans recruit & two others fell on my arm during the skirmish, which made driving home rather interesting...
And don't get Nigel started on the pig...
